Which hand do you put a purity ring on?

I have a purity ring that I have been putting on my right ring finger, but I was wondering if there is a finger that you are supposed to put purity rings on? Thanks!

The way I always understand it you put it on your ring finger and when you get married you trade off your purity ring for the wedding ring.
