You buy a motherboard that supports the cpu and you buy ram that the motherboard supports.

If you're not getting a graphics card you'll need a board with integrated graphics.

Try to google a review of the board before buying it.

Any ddr2 ram should be good as long as its compatible with your m/board - go 2gb if your using xp and maybe a bit more for vista.
