Depends on the state. But Verizon is dedicated Fiber Optic network. Its unavoidable that Verizon will become biggest consumer fiber network in near future as soon as states lift their restriction favoring comcast.

Verizon has the larger fiber network.  The reason being is that they bring fiber directly to the location.  The cable co's only bring the fiber to the hub.  You get much better service from Verizon also because they don't hire contractors that get paid by the job or are rated by the number of  jobs for their raises.  Verizon employees only quality union employees.
