  1. John B and Nathan B are both quite correct.  Gram for gram, there is more energy in any fat (whatever source) than in carbohydrates, alcohol or protein.

Invisible fats- I am using a non-American definition, so there might be another meaning in the US- are fats in foods that are not often considered:  butter/fats in cakes and baked products is the most common to most of us.  The foods are not obviously fatty unless you are familiar with the ingredients.

  2. carbs has more energy. Your body uses your carbs for energy first when it runs out of that it uses protein and then fat. That's why many people who play sports will have a high protein dinner the night before a game and a high carb breakfast.

  3. Fats have more energy than carbs.  Carbohydrates  provide 4 Kcal per gram, where as fats provide 9 Kcal per gram.  A Kcal, or kilocalorie, is the energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 liter of water 1 degree C.  Kcal = C (capital "c") as seen on nutrition labels.

    For reference:

    Carbs: 4 Kcal/gm

    Protein: 4 Kcal/gm

    Fat: 9 Kcal/gm

    Alcohol: 7 Kcal/gm

    Hope that helps.

  4. Carbohydrates

  5. By weight or volume, fat has more calories or stored energy.

  6. Fats are short bursts while carbs last a good while.

  7. Fat or lard has a high concentration of energy than carbohydrates.

Even so our main source of energy comes from carbohydrates such as fructose and sucrose.

  8. Fats have more, it's stored energy, carbs are where we get the most energy from, but they contain less energy per molecule than fats.

  9. Carbs are burned up

Protine is the best mussle builder which is then burned up

    Fat then burns up

  10. carbs are made for your immediate energy supply, and fats are made for long term energy. therefore, carbs have more energy in proportion to fats. invisible fats are fats that only last a certain amount of time inside of you, and then, unlike ordinary fats, they exit (without substansial exercise).

  11. the last time i checked fats ARE carbohydrates. They are made from long chains of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen
