Which has the most protein? Butter, peanuts, celery, or pear?

  1. peanuts. butter is mostly fat and pear is carbs, i am pretty sure. celery is full of fiber, and its yummy! but dont ever eat meat, as others before me have said, MEAT IS MURDER!!


  2. To compare fairly, look at how much protein it has per how many calories AND serving size, since you didn't specify any requirements.

    An example:

    A cup of celery has 1 gram of protein and ~20 calories.

    An ounce of peanuts has 7 grams of protein and ~170 calories.

    Butter is mostly fat, a whole stick of it might have 1 gram of protein per ~800 calories.

    A medium pear is about 1 gram of protein for 100 calories.

    Butter and pears are not a good source of protein.

    Celery, when compared directly to peanuts, has 1 gram of protein per 20 calories, while peanuts have 1 gram of protein per about 24 calories. So celery is just barely a better source of protein - but you'd have to eat 7 cups of chopped celery to get what's packed in 1 ounce of peanuts. While calorie-wise they're a better source, compared to serving-size and practicality, they're not.
