  1. I'm not sure why Maui is so popular. I think it is probably the least interesting island. I personally don't like big resorts. They are too restricting and the food is so expensive.

I would go to the north shore of Oahu. It is beautiful and you can enjoy the city once in a while.

  2. It really is up to you if you like no noise and rain forest surroundings then Kauai is you best opportunity. But if luaus safe beaches and civilization is you bet. Oahu is not a honeymooner destination but is nice if you want a lot of sight seeing and a good beach (although if you want to be private this island is bad even on the north shore!). Lastly is the big island which is nice, although it is sort of rocky and is more of an island that is for families.

Congratulations and I hope I help.  Have a great trip!

  3. i've only been to one...Honolulu on Oahu...& it was magnificent...i bet that would be fabulous for a honeymoon!!

  4. well two islands can fit a honeymoon

if you want a peaceful gettaway with days filled with relaxing and maybe some beach time, and you want the nature of hawaii to be your main scenery try kaui.

but if you want your days filled with sight seeing, beach time, and other activities go to oahu. there is so much to do and see the list goes on.

  5. ive only been to one and thats the big isle (hawaii itself). Ive heard tho that mauii is awesome.

  6. I would say if your a silent loner person- Lanai--beautiful quite place

Big town person-Oahu--like big city type but beautiful beaches

Mix Town Person-Maui-- Small town love here, beaches, rain forest, and valleys( I live here myself)

  7. It really depends on what you want to do on your honeymoon. Do you want lots of activities, shopping, restaurants, and nightlife? If you do, Oahu is probably your best bet (Honolulu, the capital, is on Oahu and it is the most populated island). Maui is a close second and I think a bit more 'honeymoony.' It's somewhat quieter than Oahu but still has beautiful scenery as well as activities, dining, shopping, and nightlife. Those things aren't quite as plentiful on Maui, but there is still a lot to choose from.

I have lived on two different Hawaiian islands: Hawaii (the Big Island) and Kauai. Personally, I would go to either of those islands for a honeymoon. There are still activities, shopping, dining, and some nightlife, but the opportunities aren't as plentiful as they are on Maui and Oahu. Hawaii and Kauai seem more remote than the other two islands I mentioned because there are fewer people living there and there is less traffic. Both islands have amazing scenery! The Big Island is known for Kilauea -- a volcano that has been erupting constantly since 1983 -- as well as for its rainforests and desert-like lava landscape on the Kona side of the island. Kauai has Mt. Wai'ale'ale -- the Wettest Spot on Earth -- in its center, fantastic beaches, and Waimea Canyon. Mark Twain called it "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and it's quite spectacular.

    Have fun and congratulations!

  8. i have been to all five and honoolulu is by far the best! there is so much fun things to do there! have funnn!

  9. If you want a romanic, lushly beautiful tropical island & don't care a lot about nightlife, then I would recommend Kauai.  If you want to go clubbing & shopping in addition to hitting the beach, then you should consider Oahu.  Oahu is definately more than just Waikiki, so don't discount it on the advice of people who say it is too crowded & touristy.  Once you get out of Waikiki, there is a lot to see & do.

  10. I HIGHLY recommend the Princeville Resort on Kauai. Kauai is by far the most romantic island out of all.
