I have a ford mondeo and it is a GLX from 1998 has five doors and is a manual transmission. I think it is a mark 2 and it takes petrol. I want to buy some new and brighter headlight bulbs and I have been told H7 and I have been told H4 and I have been told H1.

Please shed some light on the subject for me!

and thank you for your time.

I dont want to buy the wrong ones.

I want the Philips extreme power bulbs and they are not cheap. So I really want to get it right.

  1. dipped beam(outer lights) H7 go for phillips vision plus,cos they ok for plastic lens ,uv protected some lens go yellow if you use cheap bulbs.

  2. Your car uses H7 bulbs for both dipped & main beam.

    Try here;

    I've had a couple of these age Mondeos, it's usually knackered reflectors rather than poor bulbs that are to blame - If your lenses are cloudy or the reflectors dull, look on Ebay for some decent headlight units instead.

  3. definately h7

  4. you want (448 h1)

  5. Best thing to do is call the Ford dealer. They can cross reference the VIN number and look it up in the catalog. That way you can get a more accurate look up and cut through the hear-say.
