  1. Well kido, you should start out with a beginner bag , so your hands can adjust to the punching and you will also have a chance to develop some needed technique . 70 lbs should do you good. I am retired world class pro who started out when boxing was boxing !

  2. If you aren't used to hitting things you should go with a lighter bag. 70 lbs should be good. Go to your local sports store and they might have some that you can try out

  3. I usually avoid getting boxing equipment in athletic stores (Modells, Dicks, etc) since the quality is usually mediocre.  For a wide selection of bags, go to www.ringside.com or www.titleboxing.com.  They have a variety of sizes, shapes, weights, etc.

My personal prefernce is the PowAir water bag.  I've endorsed them so much on this site, other readers probably think I have stock in the company (I don't).  I've owned my water bag for 7 years.  It is 120 lbs but only 3 feet in length.  A nice compact bag.  The water doesn't settle to the bottom like a sand filled bag does.  It has give to it and it feels like you are hitting a real person.

I don't like the water bag with the foam liner, it's too soft for my test.  I like the regular water-bag.  I think it is the best bag available today!!!
