Which high index lens is the best for me?

I have a -4.25 and -4.50 prescription, which high index lens should i be getting? And how much do they usually cost?

  1. No matter whatever lens you decide on, it's still worth it not to have to wear glasses with thick and heavy lenses. I always get the high index feature when I get new glasses and I like how they make it look like I'm not wearing a strong prescription. I can do without other features like reduced glare or those that get darker in sunlight but not this one.


  2. I would personally go with a Polycarbonate, Trivex or 1.66 Hi Index lens with that Rx. They typically run from $65-$200...not including a non-glare coating or transitions. Polycarbonate is a lightweight thin material that is impact resistant. Trivex is a high definition impact resistant...lightweight lens that gives you better optics (i.e. vision)....and hi-index 1.66 gives you a lightweight lens without the impact resistance...but less distortion then you get with the polycarbonate lens.
