  1. Crosby has the most skill...

And while Crosby is getting there, Lidstrom is the best player on the ice (and in the league).

  2. Datsyuk. Raw talent

  3. Datsyuk-he is a great, fast, puckhandling two-way forward who takes the body.

  4. Zetterberg is the most complete player in the game and will win the conn smythe this year!

  5. Definately Zetterberg.

  6. sidney crosby he's young, fast, and has creative shots

  7. Zetterberg, dont listen to those who say Crosby.

  8. Lidstrom. He's been playing for two decades, has won 5 Norris trophies (soon to be 6), and has three Cups under his belt. He's an amazingly talented defenseman who knows the game and can even score goals regularly. He's priceless to the Wings.

  9. Holstrom, not the fast or finesse guy, but does what he does better than anyone.

  10. Sydney Crosby.

  11. sidney crosby, henrik zetterberg or nick lidstrom

  12. Lidstrom for sure. And can't forget Ossie.

  13. Crosby has the most overall skill and is the most complete hockey player on the Penguins.

Zetterberg on the Wings, though he does have a lot of additional talent on his line.

  14. I'd say it's a tossup between Niklaus Linstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, and Pavel Datsyuk, but Datsyuk has the best puck handling skills, so i'll give him the edge!

  15. Most overall raw talent - probably Crosby.  Still, it is a little rough around the edges at times.  For example, his face-offs are not where they need to be.

But the best player at his position in the Finals is Lidstrom.  His innate skill and "knowledge-of-the-game" skills (aka NHL experience) make him the most valuable player for his position on the ice.  Sure, he is not going to score many highlight reel goals when compared to Crosby but to evaluate the most overall skill you must consider that players position.

Don't believe me... think of it this way:  When Lemieux faced Bourque some 16 or so years ago, did Lemieux shy away from Bourque?  No.

But Pitt is trying to keep Crosby away from Lidstrom.  The only reason to do so is the belief that Lidstrom will neutralize Crosby.  There, by Pitt's own admission, they feel they can not win that head-to-head match-up.

Hence, Lidstrom is the most skillful player on either team - he is able to stop Crosby for the most significant part.

  16. There is this guy on Pittsburgh #87......d**n whats his name

  17. even though he doesn't play like some of the younger guys. i give Chris Chelios credit for still being in the game being in his mid 40s. GO WINGS!!!!

  18. Both goalies are playing with a lot of skill right now.

  19. Crosby has amazing skill but not the experience, I'm a penguins fan (in this series. Devils fan usually) and I'd say Lidstrom has amazing skill AND experience. He's a wonderful player and I hate the red wings lol. Also both goalies are wonderful.

  20. Nicklas Lidstrom.

Experience, hockey IQ, leadership are skills you can't teach.
