Which home internet provider would you suggest in terms of reliability and cost? (i live in North London).?

We are looking for a new Internet Service Provider as Orange isn't cutting the mustard. We seek quick, reliable and cheap! internet with 2 - 5 meg connection, any suggestions? Also which wireless router would you suggest?

I live in Kent and use Virgin media,  I don't seem to have the problems other people have on other networks, but then as Virgins adverts say they have cable and do not have to rely on you living near an exchange to get good speeds consistently

Global is supposed to be the best according to Which Report but I don't think it's the cheapest.

we've been with tiscali for many years - never had any problems and they have various packages available depending on your needs.

customer service has been good too - responding to emails fast rather than £1 a minute phone calls!

wireless routers are all pretty much the same.

I live in Rusilip and am with talk-talk from carphone warehouse. It is an outstanding deal and service is good. For £20 a month, you get unlimited broadband, telephone line rental, unlimited UK landline calls free anytime and free calls to 28 countries. Nobody even comes close in terms of price and value. Also remember, you dont need to pay separate line rental to BT. For router, go for either Belkin or D-Link, both are equally good.

I can only tell you what we have which is Tesco Finest. it is the most expensive they do  about £25 a month but we have never had a problem with it. Plus you get money back if you have a tesco card to spend on shopping.

Well its either virgin or sky, virgin are a bit more expensive, but sky are utterly usless i had no connection for 3 weeks!
