  1. Well, the HTR 5960 has 5 more watts than the 5760, so that's not an issue between the two Yamahas......

But the Pioneer has 50 more watts per channel, and about 0.5 % MORE THD than the Yamahas do....

And it cost's about $300 more....

So....do you need 95 watts or 150 watts of power?

In LARGE rooms, the 150 watter is the better choice, but I would suggest that in a 25 x 30 room or larger, any less and it's overkill....

Most rooms do nicely with the 80 to 100 watt range of amplifiers....

Now...let's talk about ....IMPORTANT FEATURES .!

The Pioneer has ONE....the HDMI switching.

You will use that for sure....

But the others are more related to how you live your life, like the Ipod adaptibility...if you have one already, the Pioneer would be the way to go, but not if you don't have one....

So in REALITY, I would choose the HTR5760 for my needs, but I chose the DENON line for it's reliability....

The Yamaha line came in a VERY CLOSE second place when I bought my Denon....
