  1. Apologia is written in a conversational style, so I think the concepts are easier to grasp.  Abeka is pretty challenging for most subjects, and Apologia is known to be advanced science - so I think academically you'd be about even, but I am just guessing that the approach would be easier with Apologia.

  2. Well, they're just different approaches.  Easier is relative - my son finds Apologia fits his learning style, so it's easier for him to work with.  You may find A Beka easier to work with.

They are both challenging, though; it's just a difference in how the material is presented.

I'd suggest going online to the sites and downloading sample chapters.  I know Apologia allows you to do this, I think A Beka will too.

    Hope that helps!

  3. I've heard that many people who really don't understand or like chemistry found Apologia very helpful.

  4. I have done the Apologia books for everything since Jr. High. I love them. The authors write them in a way easy to understand and kind of fun. I have done a few Abeka books and found them not as easy to use. I would go with Apologia

  5. Apologia is easier to get the lab materials for, and easier to use at home IMO.

With either curriculum, Chemistry is a challenge.
