Question:

Which homeschool programs?

I want to be homeschooled next year, and I was wondering what are some good, reliable, and well known homeschool programs? Like where you get your text books and work books from and stuff?

Also one that is not that expensive.

If it's online school then it's okay, but one that has textbooks and less online work is better.

Thanks.

  1. http://www.connectionsacademy.com  offers complete k-12 curriculum, offers outings in a group with other homeschoolers, technology assistance, it's free because it's part of the local school district, same curriculum.  They require monthly meetings with student and parent.   It's a good program. Check at the website to see if it's available for your area.

  2. It depends on what grade you are in. I use K12 homeschool (k12.com). It has programs for grades 1-8 and I think some states go beyond that. I'm still in eighth grade so I haven't looked much into that. It is online, free, and your textbooks are shipped to you (you will have to ship them back).

  3. We don't use a home school program. What I do is I test my children using the SAT, ACT, PSAT, Plan, Explore test because the ceilings are high. I get textbooks on the level indicated by those tests.

You can check out the text books at your public school and if you like them, just order them online. I let my daughter study on her own. As long as she shows substantial progress, I don't interfere. You can go to stores that carry educational materials and select from there as well. Sometimes you can get the books for less money on Amazon and eBay. We also use material from the public library.

  4. Here are some popular textbook/workbook programs you may want to look into:

I have heard great feedback on all of the programs on that list.

    Hope this helps!
