  1. Anyone could beat Big Brown.  There is no sure thing in a horse race.  Everyone is talking about Casino Drive being BB's biggest challenge.  I would like to see him win because Edgar Prado is my favorite jockey, and he should really be riding BB tomorrow.  He's already spoiled Smarty Jones' and War Emblem's Triple Crown bids, so this would be like Prado's own triple crown.  That said, I think some of the other horses have been underestimated and could beat BB.  Two that I like a lot are Dennis of Cork and Macho Again.

  2. Casino Drive will be Big Brown's biggest threat.  but no matter what, this is not a done deal.  I would put money on Edgar Prado upsetting another triple crown.  And it would be so funny and worth the weight in gold to see Dutrow explain that one.

Oh, and by the way, Prado is the jockey for Casino Drive

  3. Everyone talks about Big Browns Quarter Crack, but nobody seems to mention the abscess!!  While the Quarter Crack can cause problems, if the abscess returns it is a big problem!  An Abscess puts pressure on the inside of the hoof and can be very painful.  No horse, however great can run a mile and a half race on a sore foot.  So with that being..keep in mind that Dutrow sent BB out for blows on the morning of the Derby and the Preakness.  If he is truly confident that his horse is 100% he will do so again on the morning of the Belmont.  If he doesn't then Big Brown has contenders.

Other horse I like include Denis of Cork he is rested and finished great for third in the Derby.

Casino drive has the breeding, but that in and of itself does not win races.  His training is unorthodox, but that does not make it bad.  Many great trainer have followed the books and had it blow up in their faces in the Belmont.

I like Ready's Echo.  He is an improving horse, who has a big kick. It seems that he fits the mold of the kind of horse who usually sneaks in for 2nd or 3rd in the Belmont.  His odds should be huge and will surely help any exoctic wager.

I will be making two bets, aimed at covering the possible outcomes.  One depends on B B doing what everyone expects him to do and crushing the field. His win will be backed up by longshots finishing second and Denis of Cork keyed into the third spot.

The other is a key of Denis of cork winning with Casino and REady's Echo second and all for third

    Good luck

  4. Big Brown doesn't have a threat in the Belmont

  5. Casino Drive is the horse that could cause an upset, but any horse could do it.  It all depends on how Big Brown runs.  His hoof won't be a problem, so he has a very good chance of taking it.

  6. Denis of cork

  7. It's never a done deal...sometimes a horse just doesn't feel like running and there is nothing anyone can do to about it...

  8. Big Brown is running with a quarter crack in his left front hoof.  I only hope he survives the race.

Flat tires have been known to wreck cars.  It's not the hoof, it's the reaction it may cause if it goes.

One more thing, the location of the quarter crack.  I've dealt with some that you can compare with hang nails, this isn't one of them, and last I saw, we don't bear all of our weight on our fingernails.  No hoof, no horse.

  9. Casino Drive is probably his biggest threat.  No horse race is a done deal.  That's why they call it a race.

To the person who's worried about Big Brown's hoof -- horses don't die from quarter cracks.  They don't cause catastrophic breakdowns.  It's similar to a torn fingernail in a human.
