The Royal Sands Hotel is great for family and it is rated

the top in cancun and affordable, go on line to redweek.com

and look for Royal Sands they have lists of rentals there!!

we are going in a few weeks, got rave reviews...

Do you want to stay in Cancun itself?  Have you considered the Riviera Maya?  Many of these hotels are more family oriented.  I like the Barcelo Maya Tropical (they have a water slide and nice kids pool).  If your kids are a little older, I love Grand Sirenis.

We stayed at the Raddison in the downtown location.  Quiet but clean and modern.  Nice pool for the kids. Not near the beach, which may be a priority for you.

We stayed at the Moon palace it is pretty and well known for Adults with kids. they have a bar they have huge pools.
