Which hotel in playa del carmen has the best beach and is closest to the city?

Question

We want a hotel located in Playa with a beautiful beach, and that is also close in to the city. All inclusive if available.

Was thinking of staying down at Xcaret as we want to go to the park there, and also want to go down to tullum. Would it be better value for me to do that or to stay in Playa and just catch a bus down to these places? Is it easy enough to get buses to these places?

has anyone stayed at the shangri-la in playa?

Love, love, love Shangri-la! What an experience...

Tulum is less expensive (just not as popular yet) but Playa is close to everything via bus or ferry (Cozumel).

You can catch tours from just about anywhere in the state of Quintana Roo (where Cancun & Playa del Carmen is). My favorite tour company is Entertainment Plus. My family and friends always use them when they come to visit. They even have airport pickup.

blue parrot suites(suites is keyword) there are alot of BLUE hotels in playa,but the suites is decent,,,Maya playa is another small nice place on the beach,,,ABRACDAB or something like that,(sorry about the name) but its right on beach also...one side of playas beach is FULL of boutique hotels,,while the other side ,south of the ferry landing,,begins the inclusive resorts.good luck,,shangri-la is a cute place,,,is CUTE what your really looking for in a vacation? remember there is a difference between ,,HOTELS ,,n,,RESORTS....

the allegro is right there as well as as the riu's the taxis is 2.00 if you go to tulum or excatr it will be 20.00 each way to playa cozumel has park royal which was awesome and a 5.00 ferry ride to playa
