  1. I stayed at that Delta Chelsea once out of necessity. I really found it sub-par. I travel to Toronto a lot and my preferred hotel is Le Germain or the Windsor Arms. I'd also suggest the Holiday Inn on King.

  2. Sheraton Centre.

  3. The Royal York may be the place for you right in the heart of what you looking for . Good luck and have a nice stay .

  4. I've heard great things about Cambridge Suites Hotel (I work next door).

It's a 1 minute walk to the Eaton Centre.  Really in the heart of downtown.

You can get a room for about $160 (checked on Expedia).

And out of 95 Toronto hotels rated by guests on TripAdvisor.com,  Cambridge Suites is #5.

Oh and Toronto is very safe to walk around at night.

    Good luck and have fun!

  5. Toronto is a really safe city, so you should have no problem walking around. We have a subway and a bus BUT IT IS ON FREAKING STRIKE so you can't take it now. Maybe if you are coming in a while from now then you can take the streetcars or subway, if you have to go a reasonable distance and don't want to walk the whole way. Hope I helped, have a nice trip.

  6. The Novotel Toronto. There are many attractions nearby including the Air Canada Centre, the Hockey Hall of Fame, Rogers Centre, the Harbourfront Centre, the Eaton Centre, St. Lawrence Market, Centre Island (ferry docks), the financial district and Union Station. Public transport nearby and yes it is safe to walk around in Toronto.

  7. The Chelsea satisfies all your criteria.

No bus downtown; take the subway and the streetcar- it's quite safe with the usual precautions.  Day passes are cheap and good until the wee hours of the next morning.
