Which idea would be more popular in Canada?

Social Conservatism (against abortion, for death penalty, for Afghanistan war etc.) or economic conservatism (smaller government, less government services, free market, less taxes, etc.)

I disagree with both political stances.

"against abortion, for death penalty" is hypocrisy at it's best.

I would say social because people in Canada like to keep their money as much as possible. I have a canadian friend over soo he would say so too.

Based on the results of survey polls that I have seen over the last 2 to 3 years...

the majority of Canadians are pro-choice regarding abortion.

against the death penalty.

strong supporters of Canada's peace-keeping role in the world, which, unfortunately has changed to a combative role in A'stan.

an urgent need to overhaul the administration of government services due to some people falling through the cracks of the systems and numerous scandals of all levels of governments throughout the country.

And of course, everybody wants to see the GST get the boot.
