Which in your opinion is the better car to buy?

im gonna be starting college and im lookin for a car good on gas and looks decent so i narrowed it down to either the chevy cobalt or ford focus. which would be better?

I got to drive an SVT Focus a few years ago, and that was one of the most entertaining cars I have ever been in. It reminded me of my MKI GTI.

I tend to stay away from American cars though. I have had a lot of bad experiences and now stick to Toyota and Honda. I'm thinking of trying American again though. There are a few out there that I really like.

Unless you 're buying new, it depends on the year.  When the focus came out it was a hunk of c**p for the first and maybe second year.  Currently, it's getting top marks in it's class.

The cobalt is new.  I personally stay away from new models so the car companies have a few years to work out the bugs.

I'm a Chevy guy and I still say Focus. I have seen people run the c**p out of them and they don't give up. The Cobalts and cavaliers preceding them just seemed to have too many issues.
