I had a photo picked out already, but within the past week, I have really been getting into macro photography. Here are some of my favorites. Which one should I enter in the fair?

  5. I'd probably go with the 4th one, though they are all excellent. You are a very talented photographer.

  8. I REALLY like #5

  9. I like the first one and third one.  Not too much distraction in the background and I like the naturalness of the insects in those images.  The second one looks like the insect is in the background kind of.  The fourth and fifth ones are good, but not as good as 1 and 3.  The praying mantis in the fifth one looks a bit all over the place, but still good.

edit : actually the 4th one is good too. I could see that one in a den or in an earthy toned room.  It's very nice also.

  10. 2

  11. i like the ninja shot i've never seen a shot of a bee that was like that :)

  12. 3 or 5 - nice work!

  13. Definitely 'ninjas'. It's an original concept, and in the field of bug photography it's hard to be original.

  14. 3rd or 5th. The 3rd one shows the whole moth, and there's a lot of detail. The composition is nice. The bee shots (1 & 2) don't show enough of the bee, IMO.

The 5th one is just great because it's dramatic and unexpected. It's the most fun of the five.

  15. They're all really great, but I'd have to go with the fourth one (mantis), it has a strange angle and an equally strange subject, as well as interesting lighting.

If it were a different insect, I would say to take the first one (bee), because it has the same composition advantage as the mantis. But the mantis is far more interesting, and when it comes to contests, interesting almost always wins.
