  1. The Endangered Species Act, and the protections it provides for our nation’s endangered fish, plants, and wildlife, has come under constant assault from both Congress and the Bush administration over the past few years.

A number of conservation organizations, along with Representative Dingell, an endangered species champion who helped write the original Endangered Species Act in 1973, have created an Endangered Species Act Legacy Pledge.  Tens of thousands of concerned citizens have already pledged their support for a strong Endangered Species Act.

When various threats arise to the Endangered Species Act, in the form of legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives or the Senate or negative administrative actions, the conservation community will be able to take the list of pledge supporters to Members of Congress and let them know that their constituents support strong protections for our nation’s endangered fish, plants and wildlife.

  2. that is a tricky question, because entities that seek to undermine the ESA also appear to promote it, as long as it isn't hindering their actions.

    example:

politicians that vote on increase funding for federally protected lands, but at the same time open up federally protected lands for industrial use.

  3. Certain Richard Pombo (no longer in the House) as a rancher was opposed to the act and tried for many years to gut it

  4. Supporter=Wild Life Warriors!

  5. I am in favor of whatever conservation you are searching for help with!!! Feel free to send me an e-mail so I can help!!

P.S. Please help me with the Wild Mustangs!!! I am a 14 year-old Wild Mustang activist (started 8 years old) that needs some help with it! E-mail me for info @ savemustangs@yahoo.com. THANK YOU!!!

  6. Greenpeace.

  7. I hope I am giving you what you are looking for.  The Sierra Club is a big supporter of the ESA, as well as the Audubon Society.  Those that would be against it would depend on the animal that is listed.  The state I live in is in the midst of a huge battle regarding the Wolf and Grizzly.  They want them delisted since the numbers are much higher.
