  1. International jobs at international NGOs are posted at many web sites, including:

    http://www.developmentex.com

    http://www.reliefweb.int (click on vacancies)

    http://unjobs.org/

    http://www.dev-zone.org/jobs/index.php

You can also apply to be a UN Volunteer -- they might have an opening, and you do make a small monthly stipend if selected (it's *highly* competitive)

    http://www.unv.org

    Also try architects without borders

    http://awb-seattle.org/

If you are a US citizen, try

    http://www.winrock.org/

(both the jobs and the volunteer boards)

  2. Unless your really set on working for an NGO you might want to consider working as a freelance architect in China.  You can start out in China teaching English, because it is very easy to find a teaching job.  Once adjusted check out local architectural firms. Working for an NGO you could run into a lot of red tape. As a freelancer you can have the freedom to pick and choose which projects you want to be involved in.

I've been freelancing in China for 5 years now and it is has proven to be the easiest way to work in China.

  3. if u r american or white skin, u can easily walk into any school except those in the big cities to teach english.  what more, u can speak putonghua.   u dont need an international ngo.  when u start the job, then u network with the city's administration and they can make use of your architectural skills with yuans of course.

try quanzhou, fujian province, ningbo, zhejiang province, Guilin, Guangxi Province.
