Which ipod: 80gb or 160gb?

Nano and touch are out of the question, I have waaay too much music.

Money is not an issue since this I'm getting this as a gift.

I have about 8000 songs in my library and counting.

I don't having any movies now, since my old ipod wasn't a video, but I can see myself having quite a few.

I like to use my ipod as my music backup device, since itunes is sketchy and keeps losing my music (yes, I know, I think I'll be switching to MediaMonkey soon, but that's not the problem at hand)

My dad insists that I get an 80gb because we only barely have 160gb of space left on our hard drive, but I'm leaning toward the 160.

Intelligent help needed!

-Thanks

  1. Yeah, I hear you.  I have a 30GB ipod w/video.  About a month or 2 after I bought mine, for $249, the 80 gig came out and for the same price!  Boy, was I mad!!  Now, I'm debating the same thing--80 gig or 160 gig.  Check out this  website to compare. http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/sh...

I've heard the 80 gig is not much of an upgrade from the 30GB, so I'm still debating. But the 160 GB holds 40,000 songs.  I don't have that much music!  Since cost is no object, get the 160 gig.  You'll have lots of movies, books and all the music you could ever want.

  2. I would get the 160gb, you want to have all of Ur songs and I think it's a better  choice than the 80gb. The more memory the BETTER!!!

  3. 160gb, then you will never run out of space and be able to have plenty of music, videos and pictures on XD

  4. Well it sounds like you really want the 160gb.

But, do you really think that you are going to put all of the 8000 of your songs on your ipod?

And even if you did, the 80gb holds 15,000 songs.

What i think you should get is the Touch.

Even though it only goes up to 16gb, all of the other tools you can get on it make up for it.

Like the Wi-Fi, iTunes, and Apps Store (for apps store info - www.apple.com/itunes)

    a 16gb ipod holds 1000 songs i think.

Which is probably how many songs you REALLY are going to put on you iPod.

    Think about it

  5. dont get the classic get the touch they are so much fun

  6. 160GB would be my safe bet, because you'll never know if you'll have 15,000 songs.
