  1. It's easy to understand.  The lower the number, the farther the ball goes.  5 goes farther than 9.

  2. 5 cuz its blade is the closest to a 90 degree angle.  9 goes least cuz its the most obtuse angle on the blade...

    hope i helped :]

  3. The lower the number of Iron or wood, the less loft it has the farther it goes.(Most of the time...LOL)

  4. 5 has the least loft and the longest shaft of the clubs listed...it goes the farthest.

  5. The 5 iron should have the most distance, the higher the number on the club the more loft it has...in other words the higher numbered clubs spend their energy getting the ball higher up in the air, while the lower number ones focus their energy making the ball go more horizontal.

  6. 5 longest 9 shortest

  7. If you connect with the ball properly the above answers are correct. But not all golfers hit the ball at the same trajectory, like myself i tend to hit lower than my Brother and can hit my 5 wood as far as his 3 wood.

  8. The five would go farthest from the ones you listed.  The irons start from one and as they go up in number they up in loft, shortening distance.  The lower the number the clubs also have longer shafts.  The one and two iron are nest to impossible to find nowadays, they have been replaced by hybrid clubs.

  9. each club is designed to hit the ball different distances, all other factors being the same. A 5 iron has about 4 degrees less loft than a 6 iron and is one half inch longer. this allows about a 10 yard longer carry. Carry these changes in specs through the set. one swing, 13 clubs 13 distances. I hit a 9... 120 yards  8... 130  7... 140  etc. hope this helps

  10. 5 would be the furthest, the lower numbers hit further than the higher numbers

  11. The lower the number, the lower the angle of the club face (how shallow or steep the face is when sitting on the ground), and also the longer the club is. It is a combination of the loft (steepness of the club-face), and the torque (speed of the club-head) at impact which causes the ball to go a certain distance or a certain height.

  12. 5 hits the furthest out of your selection. The flight of the ball depends on the angle of loft at contact on downswing. The greater the angle, the higher the ball takes off and thus loses momentum when it hits the ground.

  13. 5 iron, it has the least loft so it will go furthest. 9 will go the least beacuse it has the most loft
