Question:

Which iron set would you buy, 3 to 9iron or 4 to PW?

I already have a vokey wedge (48) and a utility (19) so don't need either but there are restrictions on the size of the set I can buy - I'm trading in my old set (so basically must have one of the two options set out above). I love both my utility and the wedge and have a handicap of 11. Any suggestions?

  1. Buy the 4 to PW and keep the utility and wedge. I suggest that you have to buy a 5 or 7 fairway wood also.

  2. I would go with the 4 to PW because your PW is more important than the 3iron.

Unless you are able to still play your own game with the PW.

If I was you I would get the 4 to PW and then bye an Hybrid which would play as a 3iron (20-21degree)

Or you could by a 7-wood to replace the 3 iron.

If you feel that you really need the 3iron to hit alittle longer and lower aswell as the PW then why buy these irons it you are not going to be happy?

  3. Go with the 3-9 irons set. The reason for that is that you'll have consistency throughout your irons, and its far nicer to be able to pick and choose your own wedges than put up with the ones that come in a set, which might not be to your taste if your're already happy using the Titleist.

  4. 3 to 9

  5. I was faced with a similar situation myself when I got my new irons a few months ago.  I could purchase 3-PW or 4-SW.  I went with the 4-SW because I already had a hybrid #3 that I really like.

    I'd go 4-PW.

  6. Hey i play golf my self and I'm handicapped 10 =]

as ur handicap goes lower you of course need an 3 iron

but i think you have to have a PW. It wouldn't hugely make a difference so i think its ok to get either of them.
