1 big generator, but if it fails all the fun stops.

one big generator is much better than 6 blowers, diesil generators are much more reliable and cheaper to run, if its serviced often then you shouldnt get any problems at all. We use a 7.5 kva diesil generator that would easily power 6 x .75 hp blowers, i think the most weve had on it is 3 1.5hp and a 2 hp blower and it run fine.
