  1. They're both pretty safe. I think 1 Airbus A330 crashed on a test flight.  And other than the recent British Airways landing mishap, the 777 has not crashed.

I feel the A330 is quieter.

I like the 777-300 better than the A330

  2. Boeing 777 by a distance

but its all about the 787 now

  3. The 777 is a slightly more recent design, therefore benefits from technological advancements. The A330 uses the basic fuselage design of the A300 (which dates form 1972) while the 777 was a clean sheet development.

Newer designs are usually better, and that is no exception.

  4. The one they're paying me to fly.

  5. Boeing. Not built by the French so it must be better!

  6. The A330-200 based on sales...under flights under 5000nm the A330-200 is more economical to fly.

  7. I am a major in the United States National Airforce.

I have flown both planes and many others in my years of flying.

The B777-200 has the best overall performance compared to the A330-200. Speed Handling and Airodynamics. The A330-200's only victory is its quiet sound when flying.

  8. after looking at some diagrams, i believe the A330-200 is the better plane.

  9. B772 hands down.  Longer range, better safety record, higher passenger capacity.

  10. I have been around aircraft most of my life.  From bending wrenches on Jet Engines, serving as a civilian weapons expert on the A-10 to being a trained and experienced aircraft accident investigator.  That pedigree means if I am not opinionated I have been sleeping for 40 years.  Well I haven't.

I recall a line from the book & movie "Airport".  The corporate head mechanic made a remark about Boeing.  He said they are tough, you can remove the wings and use them for a battering ram.  I tend to agree.  While on paper the choice may be 50/50 my gut still screams Boeing.  If I were in the position to lease or purchase ships for a new airline I would look to Boeing first.

In closing I probably don't have to tell but opinions are like @$$ holes.  Everyone has one and they all stink.
