Question:

Which is a better bass?

I am on a budget of no more than $250. I have found some cool basses, but can't decide. There's the Ibanez soundgear basses(in that price range), Dean Edge 10a, or Rogue LX405 5-string. I can't decide! I've tried a Dean Edge before, but it was the E09, not the 10a. I've tried the Sr and GSR Ibanezes, but I have never even heard of Rogue. I need to know which one to get. The Rogue was higher rated, and $50 more.

  1. I have an Ibanez soundgear Bass, and I like it, but I don't get a very good slapping sound out of it. I'm not sure if it's that or my crappy amp, but give it a shot if you can, see how it sounds.

Make sure that the strings don't buzz, but that they're not too high off the frets. Also check the neck to make sure it's not warped. If it warps back, playing the first fret will make the string buzz against the second or third frets. Bad times. Mine doesn't do this, but I've seen it happen, and it's kind of a pain in the *** because it's difficult to fix.
