Question:

Which is a better bottle VentAire or Avent?

We are fixing to have another baby and we were wondering which baby bottles would be better for the baby. We both used plain bottles with our other children. And my oldest son had problems with colic, and I don't want this baby to go through that. So I just wondered what would be better.

  1. I use Avent.  I think they're great (and haven't leaked at all), but each child has their own preferences.  Buy one of each and see which works best for your baby.  Or if you have friends w/babies, see if you can borrow a bottle (buy a new nipple if you choose) and see how that works????  Good luck!

  2. The Dr Brown bottles have a lot of parts to clean, but they come with a little brush to clean the tubes. It is worth the work to keep baby comfortable. My son was a preemie with severe acid reflux and the Dr Brown bottles were what worked best for him.

  3. I heard that the Avent bottles leak extreemly bad. I use the Dr. Browns and I love love love them!!! My cousin uses the VentAir and she likes those too!!! Hope this helps!!!

EDIT: I also heard that the Born Free bottles are amazing and are BPA free!!!! They are a little bit more pricy, but I heard they are worth every penny.

  4. I heard that avent is suppose to be the best out there but I'm having prolbems with mine always leaking no matter what I do! I'm going to switch to Dc. Brown or VentAire.

  5. I really like them both and use them regularly. VentAire does slightly better at preventing your baby from swallowing air but Avent bottles are a lot easier to clean because there's less parts. And if you're bottle feeding him/her breast milk, Playtex nursers are priceless as you can use a lot of breast milk storage bags with them.

But when it really comes down to it, regular bottles are fine, as well. Either way you need to make sure you burp your LO, and your LO will learn the best way to drink from the bottle you use so that he/she swallows less air. It really comes down to your needs and wishes.

  6. I use ventair and love em!

  7. avent

  8. it all depends on your baby.  are you planning on breastfeeding at all? i am, and am in the process of trying to find bottles to use when i go back to work and the lactation  consultant said it would be best if i can find bottles with nipples that are closest to my own. that makes sense to me, unfortunately i have short nipples and bottle nipples are usually long and it has been hard for me to find short nippled bottles. i have bought 4 different brands of bottles and i am just going to try them out until i find a style that works the best for the baby.

  9. mine had colic, so we switched to dr. browns bottles, it helped a lot... but still didn't diminish the problem.. but i notice when i use the other bottles (i have both of those) he takes down way more air with them... so im leaning towards dr. browns for you!

  10. We use VentAire with our Daughter and I love them. She has never really had a problem with colic. Although they have a few parts to clean, it's actually easy. I strongly suggest them. I will use them for my next child as well.
