My name is Ryan and I'm a 26 year old from Ohio. I am stuck between two careers that I find are careers that can be rewarding, satisfying, and ever-life changing. The choices are between a career in health and wellness, or a career in education-either elementary or special education. I have researched both professions and find they both deal with helping others. I want to work with kids and to better their lives. I am a kid at heart and have a desire to work effectively as a team and I also have great interpersonal skills. If I would to choose education, would it be better to find a job working in public schools or private schools? Also, between these two professions, which one would be the best as far as making a pretty good living, enjoying nice working hours, having the weekends off for the most part, and good benefits? Which profession is in high demand? I plan to find an online college and do all my schooling through distance learning. I have looked into Kaplan and Western Governors University. If anyone can help guide me to choosing the best possible career or atleast giving me their honest opinion as to which one would be best suited for someone wanting those options, please respond to my question. Thanks to all and may god bless you.

  1. I think that you should be  PHOTOGRAPHER!

  2. It depends on what you consider a "good living".  Teachers are in great demand especially special needs. Hours can be long you don't get to leave when the kids do during the day, but true about summers off. Also anymore their are safety issues and raises come more slowly. Private schools can sometimes pay more and have less students per class. They are sometimes harder to get. I'm not sure if you can finish your degree to become a teacher online. I know you can start and get your associates, but unsure about the rest. You would have to look into it.

Now as far as health and wellness you would need to be more specific. Medical assistants as an an example do not make that much and have very long hours. One thought is if you like this area of work and children look into being a physical therapist speciallizing in children's injuries and rehab. Physical Therapists are in great demand and pays well.
