    their chimneys send out huge amount of heat and gases like sulphur di oxide which causes acid rain,Global warming

    Heat from the condenser in cooling water to be dispersed to atmosphere.

    Nuclear stations are costly,dangerous if not operated very strict safety conditions.

    The radio active waste is a problem to store or dispose.

    Big damage if melt down or explosion happens

    Coal  on the earth will be finished in 50 years time.

    Atomic minerals will be available for many more years.

    On the other hand, ONE coal plant puts out tons of CO2, sulfur, and other pollutants every day.

    For example, coal plants put out about 43 tons of mercury each year. this is a very dangerous material, even in very small quantities, and here we have 86000 pounds of it being dumped into the air every year. and when was the last time you saw someone picketing a coal plant?
