Hi, I've been offered sponsorship nursing in Melbourne and also in Perth as well so I'm finding it difficult to choose between the two. I'm 31, single and spent a year in Oz 7 years ago and loved both cities. I do like going out partying, going to the beach and the outdoors, walking etc. What do you recommend?

  1. Melbourne.

We had family come over from Perth and when they left they said they didn't want to leave!

As it is a bigger city, there is much more to do

  2. If you like partying, definitely Melbourne.

If you like the beach, definitely Perth.

You like both, so I'd choose Melbourne. It is less pretentious, more international, less narrow-minded, closer to other cities and doesn't have such stinking hot summers.

  3. Melbourne

  4. Congratulations on being offered sponsorship to come here.

Yours is a difficult choice as they're both great places to live. Personally, I'd choose Melbourne. It's a brilliant city for everything but particularly for its dining out and nightlife. Perth has its beautiful surf beaches close to the city and the Swan River as well, but Melbourne's bay beaches are good too and the surf beaches, while much further than Perth's, are better. Perth's weather is better, but Melbourne's isn't as bad as people say. Perth's outdoors are great, but Melbourne's are at least as good and I believe, better (and you can get to the snow over there too). The really big thing though, is that Melbourne is on the eastern side of the country and that's where everything's happening. Perth is expensive and it's a h**l of along way from everything.

  5. Perth!!!!!!!!!! I have traveled to both cities and i am American Perth is much better

  6. I have lived in both.  Perth is the place to be, Melbourne is a dump.
