Which is a better college the university of miami or florida state

they both seem nice but i wanna know which one you think is better

Florida State university is fantastic!!!! I went there!!!

    They had the courses I needed for my degree plan as well as some FUN electives...

    Write people who go to Miami to find out about them...

    You need to concentrate on the classes they offer and which ones you need. for your degree. As well as the fun ones in your degree plan you have worked through with your education counselor.

Both are outstanding institutions.  Which one is right for you depends on what you are majoring in and what your personality is like and what you want out of your college experience.  Both universities have their strong programs and weak programs.  No one university is the best in every program.  You wouldn't go to Harvard for an engineering degree and you wouldn't go to MIT for a law degree.

The University of Miami is a private university so it will be more expensive.  UM is in a large diverse city with a lot of night life and things to do.  It has a smaller campus and smaller student population.

Florida State University is a public university and has the third largest student population in the state behind UF and UCF.  It is in Tallahassee in the panhandle of Florida with not much around it.

of course, it is dependant on your selected major...... but, assuming you haven't chosen a major, as a rule of thumb, a degree from a private university will pull more weight than a state university.  Advantage Miami.  On the other hand, hiring managers tend to favor graduates from their own alma mater, thus, HUGE advantage Florida St.  Bottom line, choose your course of study, research each school based on the curriculum, then decide.
