I currently have Comcast internet and cable and have AT&T phone but now I have been offered a deal by AT&T to pay $99 for all three services covered in one package deal where as Comcast is going to offer me $110 for their equivalent to this plan. What are the pros and cons of both and what are your personal thoughts or problems with these providers?

  1. Don't do it!  I had AT&T and was  completely miserable.  I could never seem to keep up with the bill.  It was getting higher and higher each month and I could never figure out why!  Finally, I became friends with an AT&T employee who told me that the company is known for charging lots of hidden fees and if you read the fine print, they AREN'T required to tell you about all of them!  Plus, AT&T makes you sign a 1 year contract.  So let's say you don't like the service a month or so down the road...tough!  You either have to stick it out for the next 11 months or pay a very large fee to be let out of the contract.  This is exactly what happened to me before I switched to Comcast a few months back.  Unfortunately, I still have cell phone service with them (which is even worse!) until my 2 year contract ends.

AT&T has been losing a lot of money due to the disintegration  of their phone book sales.  I know this because my mom was an account executive for one of their competitor companies.  So, they are in the process of nickel and diming anyone they can.  They even charged me for things that weren't part of my normal bill and when I brought it to their attention they tried to make up excuses as to why the didn't have to refund my money.  When I finally mentioned taking legal action against them, they finally gave me my money back.

This company is a headache.  Stay away from them!

  2. comcast so you can everything on one bill and it saves money

  3. I have the Comcast package that you are talking about and have had it for many years and never had a problem with them.  They are a huge company that prides theirself on customer service, and you really can't beat that price for 3 important services; telephone, hi-speed cable and internet.

  4. when did at&t get into the cable and broadband business?  dsl is not broadband.
