  1. only horses i have had experience with mostly are

what we call follow the leader breed and trained horses for trail riding

    LOL

Most all show horses or such i have seen are very high spirited , and can be contrary....guess it really depends on who is training and riding them

  2. Both are good it just depends on the situation you use them in.

  3. quarter horse

  4. It depends on what you are looking for. There are plenty of Standardbreds who are taken from the track and retrained as riding horses and they do quite well. The pacers can be a problem if you are doing any kind of showing because pacing is frowned upon in riding disciplines. However, you can work with them to get them to trot reliably and pacing is fine for a pleasure horse (less up and down motion as in a trot and more of a sway from side to side from the rider's perspective).

The Saddlebreds are great and some are five gaited and have the slow gait and rack in addition to the walk, trot, and canter. Many people find the slow gait and rack to be very comfortable, especially if they have back problems. If you want to show saddle seat, you will need the Saddlebred and not the Standardbred. For pleasure or trail riding either is fine.

  5. I think American Saddlebred

  6. Depends what you want to do. Look online and reaserch the breeds, see if what that breed is used for and it's temperment fits what you want. Me, I have to say I haven't had experiance with eaither. I'm partial to Quarter Horses, Paints, Buckskins, and Palaminos. Not really into those hot horses.
