Which is a better name: Stormy or Rainy?

if it was me, i'd make it Storm or Rain. but if you're going to choose one of those, i'd go with Stormy.

It depends what sort of character it is,

If its like an innocent character then i would go for Rainy,

if its a more eveil character then i would go for Stormy.

Even if it's just for a fictional character, the names are so fakey and Hollywoodish. Might as well use Zuma and Apple.

People connect with fictional characters when the characters are believable and have believable names.

I'd have to say Stormy, because rainy sounds kinda ... hmm how should I say this... depressing? I don't know how else to explain it.
