  1. The cost of living in Texas is low.  For what you would pay in New York for a small apt. You can live in Texas with a huge house, and a nice luxury vehicle instead of catching a cab. Texas is the place to be if you want to live a good life and not be so crammed up. Yes.... we do get hurricanes, but they are often disasterous. I cant remember the last time we have had to evacuate. Its all good in Texas.

  2. Texas is a very large state with huge differences between rural and urban areas and east and west parts of the state. IMO West Texas should be deleted as it makes the drive across the state very long and boring.  Most of what you will see there are oil wells, cattle and perhaps some farming.  Think dust bowl.

East Texas, on the other hand, has Houston, Dallas and lots of other very nice cities, is greener, wetter (more humid) and has lots of things to do.

New York city is an entirely different beast - huge population density, very high cost of living, and not for the faint of heart.  If you like a bit of space, this is not a good place to be.  But if you like an active city with lots of cultural opportunities, be here.  For young people looking for an interesting life experience, this is a terrific place to study and live IF YOU can afford it.

  3. NYC! X

  4. Of course it's NY. It's funny to see Texans answer your question by saying NY is expensive hence it's not a better place to live.

It's the other way around, it's expensive BECAUSE it's a better place to live. More people want to live there, thereby driving up the cost to live there.

If being non-expensive is a great reason to live, than Detroit would be the best place to live in the US.

  5. The population is greater in Texas cause IT'S A BIGGER STATE, DUH!!! New York City is practically the biggest city in the world, if you didn't know that by now, and it's like no other city in the world!!! Where else can you watch amazing broadway shows, definently not Texas. And if your tired of the city, you can always go to Eastern Long Island (about 2-3 hour drive east) or Rhode Island (by ferry) and see beautiful, historical mansions. You don't have to live in the crowded city either. You can take the train from the suburbs and see the city. No wonder so many stars live on LI, the shopping is amazing in the city!!! My aunt lives in Texas and would move to NY in a heartbeat if she could afford it. So, by far NYC is the best place to live in.

  6. well texas is gunna be having a hurracaine, and only live in newyork if your  city person : )
