  1. It depends on your family and situation, apart from jobs.  Which part of each state are you talking?  Would you be comparing a big city to a small town?  Where is your family in relation to each area?  I would want to be within a day traveling distance of family so the kids can know their relatives.  If you have a family history of hay fever and allergies, I'd choose Arizona.  I lived in west Texas as a child (which would have a similar climate), then we moved to Indiana when I was 13.  My allergies were worse after we moved.  But we moved from a big city where I had friends of many different cultures/nationalities to a small town where everyone was alike and had parents who went to school together and so were very secluded.  You would have to consider if you want your child raised in a diverse community or not.  Your question could be better answered if you specified cities/areas of each state.

As for the weather, heat is relative.  The heat in Arizona is dry, while the heat in Indiana is humid and sticky.  Then you have to worry about snow days and fog delays in Indiana.  We had one snow day in 8 years in Texas, so I'd imagine it would be easier to plan around school days since the kids wouldn't be making any missed weather days up.

  2. Maybe Indiana. Doesn't it get scorching hot in Arizona?

  3. Here's a website that has a lot of great info on different areas of the country.  You just fill out a form and it matches you with areas based on your family, career, interests, etc.  It's really fun to do, too!  Good luck with whatever you decide!  I wish I was moving!! lol
