Question:

Which is a better sight for a compound bow? a peep or fixed pin?

I am preparing for the archery deer season and i cant decide which sight to use. plz help

  1. A pin will help put the arrow on target, and the peep allows you to keep your face in the same area of the string each time.

    I recommend you use both.

    Now for those who think you need both, you must be a newer shooter. I recall when a peep was a new fangled thing, and compound bows were still designed to be finger shot.

    Today most compounds are designed to be release shot, and everyone prefers a peep and pin.

    I shoot a modern set up, but learned on a re curve bow. It is a lot of fun to shoot instinctive, and makes you a great judge of yardage. Still got it too!!! Some things don't get old.


  2. You need pins AND a peep. The peep sight allows you to look at the pins in a more consistent manner, thus allowing for better accuracy. I never liked the peep sights that didnt have a rubber tube cuz the hole was too big and they didnt always line up, but they say it makes your bow louder if you do use a peep with a tube on it. I choose to use one with a tube. For sure use both.

  3. you need both to have a full site. you look through peep site and put the pin in the middle of the peep and on the target.
