  1. It is very fatiguing to carry more than a few pounds for any significant distance in a backpack.  If you've got to carry more than a few pounds it is always better to put a rack on the bike and use some type of panniers.

    I took a look at the photos you posted.  Looks like an good contraption for carrying bulky items.  My only particular concern is it looks like the weight would be carried quite high above the bicycle's center of gravity.

  2. i use a cargo rack with a milk crate attached with a bungee cord. The one problem that I have with it is that it's too high for me to swing my leg over properly when mounting the bike ( I have a boy's bike, not a step-through). I can see that that might be an issue with the device you posted as well. Maybe get the folding baskets that can attach to a cargo rack, or get a front basket?

    Just get 1 with pockets for change and keys and stuff..


  4. i dont like the weight and heat of things on my back.  give me a set of paniers any day.
