Which is a good motorcycle to buy for long distance riding in India? I plan to go from Mumbai to Kashmir.?

Honda. Best on Earth. The Shadow 750 is a fairly large bike, capable of higher speeds.

A smaller bike - the 250 Rebel is better for fuel economy, but will go about 1/2 the speed of the 750. So naturally, the 250 rebel is cheaper. So it depends on how fast you want to go, and if you are trying to save money.

  There are smaller bikes that are not capable of highway speeds, but I am not familiar with them.

the best for this kind of vast traveling will be a cruiser.

Royal Enfield Thunderbird or Electra will be a good choice.

Bajaj Avenger is also nice.

Though Bajaj is my fav Indian maker but for this vast traveling I personally recommend Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield is what more than 90% will suggest and guys like me had used since ages for such a long distance riding.

ON GROUND: I seen images where guys from Maharashtra did this twice on bikes and they used BAJAJ PULSER, UNICORN, KAWASAKI .
