Lust for life is the same as zesty, healthy, satisfying, rewarding, positive living!

Life of mediocrity is the same as zombie-like existence.

I'd take the one day of a good thing than a 1000 days of nothingness.

One day with a 'lust for life' because you will get more out of that day than the 1000 other days of mediocrity. Also, 1000 mundane days will leave you feeling bored and unsatisfied. One day might end too soon but at least you will have enjoyed the ride.

btw, did you know that there's a book called Lust for Life? It's by Irving Stone and it's a biography of Van Gogh. It's really good and pretty surprising!
