Scotland is great..especially if you are a solitary traveler. It's a friendly country, easy to get around without a car....Edinburgh is a great city...most activities are within easy walking distance.

I am partial to the UK in general, as I have spent so much time there...

But Scotland has it hands down for friendliness.

I feel that it is different for everyone.   When I went into the Air Force, I got to see Germany, which to me seemed to be a lot like Ohio.   Also, I was over in Thailand, which was so hot that it took your breath away when you first got there.   Thailand had it's beauty too though.   It made me think of Japan.   I always wanted to go to Japan.

Indian a country of cultural diversity and numerous languages under one democratic set up.  It is beautiful to dine and dance, Western , Eastern or nomadic style.

It really depends on what you are looking for.  I think Japan is a great place to visit for the nightlife and good food.  It's a little expensive about like NY anyways.  Check it out.
