    Financial Assistance to the subsidised Flying Clubs

    Under the scheme, subsidised flying is provided to the students upto 60 flying hours or private pilot licence, which ever is earlier. The cost of operation on different type of aircraft in Flying Clubs/Institutes is as under :

    The object of Government's financial assistance to the flying clubs/institutes/schools etc. through flying subvention payment shall be to enable the clubs/institutes to their members on payment of charges at the rates prescribed by the Govt. :

    Flying training for the issue of :

    Student Pilot Licence (Aeroplanes)

    Private Pilot Licence (Aeroplanes)

    Flying Training for:

    N.C.C. Cadets and

    Any other class of trainees in accordance with the scheme which may be approved by the Government.

    Facilities for hobby flying

    Facilities to obtain experience for the renewal of Pilot's Licence.

    Facilities to carry out flying test for issue and renewal of Private Pilots's Licence and rating.

    Tuition in technical subject for issue of students for issue of students and private pilots licence and where possible tuition and practical training for issue of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's Licence.

    Refresher Courses to arrange flying tests or checks for the members and instructors of the clubs/institutes/schools required by the DGCA.

    Aero towing facilities to glider pilots.

    And any other facilities in connection with the promotion of the art and science of flying and aeronautics in all its aspects and all matters prescribed therewith as approved and in accordance with the Directives issued by the D.G.C.A. from time to time.

    The following types of flying training imparted at the flying-clubs/institutes/schools etc. shall be categorised as instructional flying :

    Flying training for issue and renewal of P.P.L.

    Flying training for any specific class of trainees in accordance with the scheme which may be approved by the Govt. from time to time and;

    Hobby Flying

    Joy rides, charter and non-revenue flying shall not be included in the category of instructional flying.

       2. Gliding Clubs :

    There are 12 Gliding Clubs in the country which provide gliding facilities to the members of the clubs. The gliding is also subsidised under the Government of India and the subsidy being provided is 40%, the details of which is as under :
