Working at a grocery store in my opinion is better because you want come home smelling like food every day. My first job was at a grocery store.

Avoid fast food.  It's gross.  Do the grocery store.  Both will have busy times - but grocery store is much easier to work with and pays the same or better.  

You can't get grease burns sacking groceries and you'll never come home smelling like nasty fries.

Go for the grocery store.  Customers in food service situations can be a bit much.  The rudeness level is sky high sometimes because "you forgot to hold the pickles", or theres too much or not enuff ice in their drink.

In FF joints you gotta do a little of everything. Maybe if they would let you just stay as a cashier.

Cleaning restrooms/floors? no thanks! Working in a hot kitchen is far from cool.

Depends on you, what type job, the hours you want, your personality.......  Either job is a great experience and you benefit greatly.  Apply to both, see who calls first; if both call go to interview with both and then decide. Working at market can be very frustrating as you deal with people same as fast food. PLus people try to steal, cheat and lie about foods etc.

I'd say, from personal experience, fast food. I worked in a fast food place for almost a year as my first job and I enjoyed it. Younger people, around your age, will most likely work at a fast food place. Working fast food is easy, with flexible hours, and great pay. Try what you think is best for you. Goodluck!

In general, a GROCERY STORE.  For one, most grocery employees are part of a Union.  :O)

My father started bagging groceries at a store we have here in Missouri, when he was 16.  He climbed the food chain, stayed involved in the Union, and he was able to RETIRE AT 42 Years of age!  

Can't beat that!  :O)

A grocery store gives you the opportunity to do many different jobs. It also allows you do some physical exercise and doesn't subject you to fried foods all day. An apple is a much better snack than french fries.

fast food environments are bad for your skin and general health...   I still remember how disgusting the potato starch residue was on my clothes and skin when I worked at Nathans 18 years ago, go for the grocery store..

grocery store. depending on your age there could be several positions for you to choose from, however you will deal with customers almost constantly and while most are pleasant some are not. trust me I was in the grocery business for 10 years. overall its a great job so go for it. and if you in the southeast (GA, AL, FL, SC) and near a Publix give them a try they are a great company to work for.

I was here too.

Grocery store or Fastfood

All my friends said grocery store.

So i went to fastfood.

It was a pain but the cash and hours were fantastic.

My best friend wanted me to work with her but I was making a dollar an hour more and twice the hours.

As a young teen.

It was perfect.

I showered alot though.

My mom said i smelled like cheeseburgers.

But i was the richest out of all my friends.

Money is motivation.

It depends on your type of personality but if your outgoing I would say Fast Food but if your laid back and kinda shy the grocery store.
