Which is best for a swimmer Gatorade, Vitamin Water, or Propel?

I swim on a club team with 2 hour workouts almost everyday, and I want to know which fitness drink is the best to drink when swimming and doing a lot of exercise.

  2. I'm a Gatorade fan. I workout all the time, work horses in the hot sun and drum major. So i'm outside and sweating a ton. I love gatorade because I feel revived quickly but I won't "burn out" as soon. Also I buy a huge container of powdered contain and put it in little baggies, so when I get a bottle of water I dump it in.

  3. Gatorade/Propel and plain Water. I always bring both - 500ml Gatorade or Propel and 500 ml Water during swimming.

  4. Gatorade or Propel are the best of those. They are pretty much the same. I prefer Gatorade because I like the flavors better, but that's the only reason why I choose it over Propel. You can choose either one of them.

  5. I play lacrosse, and we practice at least 2 and a half hours a day. I have experimented with a lot of different sport drinks, but my recommondation would be Vitamin Water. We play in snow, rain, and scorching heat. Whenever I drink Gatorade or Propel, it coats my throat with the fructose it is made of. Vitamin Water has a closer consistency to water, in my opinion, and although I suggest water over anything, I would say Vitamin Water is the next best thing, mainly because it doesn't give me a headache or stomache from the sugar. Just go with the one that you like the best.

  6. Immediately after or during a workout Gatorade is great because it replaces the lost electrolytes.  Throughout the day water is vital though.  Just plain water.

  7. Gatorade. When you sweat, you don't only sweat water, you sweat salt (electrolytes.) Therefore, when you drink fluids, it should replenish what you lost. Water only replenishes the water part of sweat, while gatorade also takes care of electrolytes.

    Gatorade replenishes your body in ways water can't.

  8. When I swim I prefer Gatorade during the actual work out.  The others remind me too much of the water I'm swimming in so I look for a really strong flavour.  

    However, when I am done with work out I would never dream of drinking gatorade.  I tend to stick to Fuze's after work outs because they have 100% of your daily Vitamin C to keep me from getting sick.  Also, you don't need the electrolytes when you aren't currently doing the practice.

  9. if i had to choose between those, probably Propel. but i'd rather just drink regular water. really anything that keeps you hydrated and replenishes electrolytes

  10. the best thing for a swimmer to drink is water. Not gatorade, vitimin water or propel. They all have some level of sugar and chemicals in it. sometimes if you drink too much and swim, it comes back up. Water will keep you hydrated and healthy. sugar slows you down.
