Which is better, AMD Turion or Itel Core 2 Duo for a laptop?

I'm looking to buy a laptop for school and i don't know what kind of processor to get. I would like to know which of the two processors i should get: AMD Turion(TM) X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor or the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor. Which one is faster and more reliable?

Unless we know the models you're considering, there isn't a definite answer. But the probable answer is that the C2D will be faster against a comparable AMD cpu.

I would get Intel, make sure what brand your Mother Board is compatible with.

I only use AMD. It is faster and more reliable.

If you don't care for performance that much, Turion X2 will save you money. Still as fast as C2D in everyday tasks, just not able to compete based on raw power.
