  1. lcd because the picture quality is better and they are less likely to encounter technical problems

  2. Depends on your viewing needs but generally if you want a size less than 37"-42" then go for LCD. Bigger than this then go for Plasma.

Now with Plasma TVs due to the technology that goes behind making them, you will understand why they are better for picture quality on things like contrast ratio and true colour representation. This site explains everything: http://plasmaorlcd.co.uk which you could find useful.

If you are going to be watching only SD (standard definition) content then you would not only want a good make tv to be able to uprez well the SD to the higher resolution on the HD ready tv but also don't go for a full HD set (1920x1080). Now Plasma resolution is often either 1024x768 or 1920x1080. You do get other resolutions but what I often recommend is going for the 1024x768 tv for those who won't be watching HD in the near future but would want to be slightly ready for HD when you do decide to go for it.

Also Plasmas handle fast movement better so there is less blurring. I have been very disappointed with LCDs for SD content especially not good make ones.

    Hope that helps!

  3. lcd s are cheaper and last longer but plasma gives you the best picture go to bestbuy and ask they will set you up with your needs and i heard that a lcd lasts like 20 years while plasma lasts like 10years

  4. LCD. For various reasons but mostly they have a longer life span. The gases in Plasma screens eventually burn them leaving permanent marks. LCD don't have this problem.

  5. lcd has better quality picture, but its not made in really big sizes like plasma screens.  so it depends what you want.  i have an awesome 52" plasma in my living room, which is REALLY good quality, but i wanted size more than resolution.  if your looking for a smaller one go for lcd because its got better quality picture, but if you want big your only option is plasma, but still its a great picture and i LOVE mine :)

  6. Hi,

I would recommend you this Buying Guide. It explains the difference between LCD and Plasma.

If you are still searching for a TV, look here and you will find your TV for the best price:

  7. Well...plasma uses waaay more electricity and you can only notice the difference between the two on very large screens (42"?), so if you plan to get 42" or more, plasma would probly be better, but otherwise LCD might be.

    Hope that helps      =]

  8. Lcd definitely. I have a plasma and it has a shorter life span in fact mine broke down after 15months it cost £500 to get it fixed (never took out extended warranty) u don't expect to pay £2000 for a t.v. that only lasts over a year. I have an lcd in my bedroom which i have had for 4yrs and it is a great t.v.

  9. Well, you can listen to the answers here (most of which are ill-informed, mindless drivel, with no bearing on reality), or you can check out the truth as to why 63% of the population prefer plasma televisions.
