  2. socialism has turned out bad for veryone who uses it. capitalism has worked pretty well for america why mess  with a good thing

  3. Predominantly capitalist economies have historically been the most successful, but it is possible to have a successful economy that leans more toward the socialist side (eg Sweden).  So probably whichever one fits in most closely with a given culture's values.

  4. Socialism is better in theory, but humans are too greedy for it to ever work.

  5. Capitalism, hands down.

    The problem with Socialism is that Govt's attempts to set prices and dictate market rules are inefficient and unable to change. Free markets work because they are democratic. People vote with their dollars. Those who don't get the votes fail, those who do win.  Whereas Socialist pick winners and losers, even if the winners suck and the losers are the best.
